Hello, I'm Marina!
I’m a counsellor based on Vancouver Island, and the work I do is shaped just as much by my professional training as it is by the life I’ve lived. I’m adopted, have Indigenous lineage, and have spent years supporting Indigenous communities and families. I’m also a partner, a daughter, a sister, a dog mom, and someone who has navigated complexities in family, identity, and belonging.
Because of these experiences, I understand what it means to carry many roles at once, to hold things together when life feels chaotic, and to keep moving forward even when you’re unsure of your next step. These pieces of my story allow me to meet clients with deep respect, cultural humility, and a genuine commitment to understanding their world.
In my work, I believe that while our early relationships often shape us, we can also heal through supportive and attuned ones. Many of the patterns we struggle with today once served a purpose. Together, we explore those old strategies with compassion and curiosity, so you can build new ways of coping, connecting, and caring for yourself.
If you’re feeling ready, whether for a small step or a bigger change, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.

Individual Counselling is offered at $105 for 50 minute sessions. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available to support accessibility of services.
I support adults (18+) navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy during times when life feels heavier, more uncertain, or more complicated than expected. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or unsure how to move forward, counselling offers a space to explore what’s really happening beneath the surface.
My approach to counselling is relational, client-centered, and trauma-informed, grounded in the belief that you already carry wisdom, resilience, and the capacity for change within you. My role is to help you access it. I meet you exactly where you are and tailor our work to your pace, goals, and comfort level. Together, we’ll explore what’s been showing up in your life, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and strengthen the resilience you already have, while building practical tools that help you feel more grounded and capable in your daily life.
I draw on evidence-based strategies such as strength-based work, cognitive-behavioural skills, internal family systems, and attachment-informed and compassion-focused approaches. In sessions, you can expect a blend of reflection, emotional processing, and skills-based support. Some days we may focus on regulating your nervous system; other days, we may explore deeper themes around identity, relationships, or past experiences. Therapy is collaborative and paced at your comfort level—some sessions emphasize understanding patterns and emotions, while others focus on practical strategies you can use right away.
Throughout our work together, my goal is to provide a steady, compassionate space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful, sustainable change. If you’re ready to explore what’s been weighing on you and begin moving toward a more grounded, connected version of yourself, I’m here to support you.
